Free at last, we are free at last!!!
Our democracy is 13 years old today!!!
27th April is the anniversary of the first democratic elections in South Africa- has been a public holiday since '95.
I'm often amazed at how far we've come- sure we still have problems- Aids, poverty, crime- but when I think of where we could have been..this is still a pretty cool place to live- it's definitely interesting
Here is a picture of some of the queues back then...took all day but was more than worth it


I have family visiting- so just a quite frugal day

Some of you have asked about my nick-
pronounce lee-ver-hek-see
It means lovable little witch in Afrikaans and comes from a TV programme in the 70's in South Africa
My MIL gave me the nick name because I do tarot cards and astrology as a hobby
